2025 February Jack and the Beanstalk

Jack and the Beanstalk by Ben Crocker

Can this be true? (Oh yes it is!/ Oh no it isn’t!)

Playgoers have been going for 90 years and this is the first time they’ve staged a pantomime !?

Jack and the Beanstalk by Ben Crocker (a prolific creator of entertaining shows) is a traditional family pantomime with all the elements you would expect :

A dame, a King , a beautiful princess, a cow, a giant and his evil  henchman and of, course, a Good Fairy. With a cast drawn mainly from the younger members of Playgoers, together with some very experienced old hands who played in Cockermouth’s panto for many years, this will be a colourful spectacle of song , dance, drama and silliness, suitable for all ages and just the thing to cheer up a dull February.

Produced by Tony Magorrian, with stage direction from Liz Pritchard, choreography from Sue Marshall and Musical direction by Owen Evans .
